Creativity After Christmas

Creativity After Christmas

While working on my next big piece, I’ve been contemplating the art I’ve made during January in the past few years. Not only did I find that the pieces were some of my best, but three of the past four have won an award of some sort!

2014 – Date Night (formerly Colored Pear Illuminated) – 1st gourd lamp, won 3rd place in sculpture at 2014 Celebration of the Arts

2015 – Teddy’s Balloon – made for my little man – 1st place in Gourd Magazine Spring 2017 Craft contest (resulting in featured artist for Summer issue)

2016 – Ascension – Honorable Mention at 2016 Artworks Members Only show

2017 – Dream – My largest piece to date – sold during my first setup at the Kentucky Crafted Market

Stay tuned for this year’s creation 😁

Giving Thanks 2015

Most of my artwork takes meaning during and after creation, and this one grew into something that is being celebrated today. Giving Thanks. Traditional colors of red, orange, and yellow accompany patterns resembling feathers and encompassing pyrography, bringing all together and celebrating as one.

I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for the continued support of the work that I do. I thoroughly enjoy creating gourd art, both big and small. Your purchases, kind words, and just checking out my work from time to time, are all very appreciated, and I am very thankful!

Thank you!

Wood Burning Class #3: Candlesticks

Wood Burning Class #3: Candlesticks

This year marks another year of growth as an artist. I’ve began teaching pyrography (woodburning) classes at a local gallery here in Bowling Green, KY, Gallery 916. The classes are going to be held on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month. The classes are labeled under Learn & Burn: Wood Burning, and are meant to share the art of wood burning, while burning various projects. The next class will be creating this set of wooden candlesticks. So if you’re in the Bowling Green, KY area, and want to learn all about this awesome art form, then check out the Learn & Burn classes! http://www.facebook.com/learnandburnart

Growing

Hello All!

I’ve finally moved up into the “website” world.  I’ve been on Facebook forever, tried just a simple blog, and have been growing my marketing skills along the way.  I’m hoping to continue to update this page, as I’m hoping to make it one of my steady communication homes.  We shall surely see.  But for now, here’s more about me…

As you have possibly read on the Home screen, I’ve began woodburning several years ago.  I’ve grown tremendously since the Christmas ornaments I first made as my first projects.  My current passions lay with creating gourd art, along with custom projects made for others.  As I’ve grown, my skills and passions have also grown.  I’m now at a point that I like to share and help others grow.  In 2014 I’ll be having pyrography (woodburning) classes at a local gallery here in Bowling Green, KY.  The gallery is Gallery 916, and the class series is Learn & Burn: Wood Burning.  As of right now, the classes will be held on 2nd & 4th Mondays, at 6:30 p.m.  The goal of the classes is to teach the art of pyrography through creating various projects.  Each class will be a different project (upcoming class is Custom Clocks: creating your very own custom clock).  Make sure to check out, Like, and keep up with the Facebook page designated for this class series: http://www.facebook.com/learnandburnart

Thank you 🙂
